چکیده

Inclusive transverse momentum spectra of charged particles in photoproduction events in the laboratory pseudorapidity range −1.2 < η < 1.4 have been measured up to pT = 8 GeV using the ZEUS detector. Diffractive and non–diffractive reactions have been selected with an average γp centre of mass (c.m.) energy of 〈W 〉 = 180GeV. For diffractive reactions, the pT spectra of the photon dissociation events have been measured in two intervals of the dissociated photon mass with mean values 〈MX〉 = 5 GeV and 10 GeV. The inclusive transverse momentum spectra fall exponentially in the low pT region. The non–diffractive data show a pronounced high pT tail departing from the exponential shape. The pT distributions are compared to lower energy photoproduction data and to hadron– hadron collisions at a similar c.m. energy. The data are also compared to the results of a next–to–leading order QCD calculation. DESY 95-050

Inclusive Production of ρ0,K∗0 and φ Mesons at HERA

The production of ρ(770)0, K∗(892)0 and φ(1020) mesons is studied in non-diffractive photoproduction processes at HERA using events measured with the H1 detector. The corresponding average γ p centre-of-mass energy is 210 GeV. The mesons are reconstructed in the rapidity range | ylab |<1 and transverse momentum range 0.5 < pT < 7 GeV. The differential cross sections are measured as a function o...

4 Ju n 20 02 INCLUSIVE DIFFRACTION AT HERA

The diffractive dissociation of virtual photons, γ * p → Xp, has been studied in ep interactions at HERA with the H1 and ZEUS detectors. The data are presented in terms of the diffractive structure function F D 2 and of the diffractive cross sections dσ/dt and dσ/dMX. The t-dependence of the cross section is measured. The Pomeron intercepts extracted from diffractive and inclusive ep interactio...

Diffractive PDFs and factorisation tests at HERA

The HERA collider at DESY (Hamburg) has provided Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) of electrons off protons in the years 1992-2007 for the H1 and ZEUS experiments with a centre of mass energy up to 318 GeV. Diffractive dissociation of photons in the reaction γ(∗) p → X p, constitute a large fraction (∼ 10%) of the visible cross section in deep inelastic scattering (DIS), and the process can be se...

Behavior of diffractive parton distribution functions.

Diffractive parton distribution functions give the probability to find a parton in a hadron if the hadron is diffractively scattered. We provide an operator definition of these functions and discuss their relation to diffractive deeply inelastic scattering and to photoproduction of jets at HERA. We perform a calculation in the style of “constituent counting rules” for the behavior of these func...
